Mobile & PWAs

Do you actually need an app? Usually not — and we'll show you the faster, cheaper answer.

Mobile

Most businesses asking for an app don't need one.

"We should have an app" is one of the most expensive assumptions in small business. Native apps cost a lot, need constant upkeep, and sit unused on phones more often than anyone admits. Usually there's a faster, cheaper answer that does the same job. The first thing we do is figure out which you actually need.

Mobile strategy session

$450

A focused working session on the real question: do you need a native app, a progressive web app, or just a better mobile website? You leave with a clear recommendation and a rough cost for each path — before you spend anything building.

Right for you if: you're considering an app and want an honest read before committing real money.

You probably don't need this if: you already know exactly what you need and just want it built — then let's skip to that.

Mobile-first website

Starting at $3,500

Very often, the thing people call 'we need an app' actually means 'our website is painful on a phone.' A mobile-first site fixes that at a fraction of the cost, with nothing to download.

Right for you if: your customers are mostly on phones and the current site fights them.

You probably don't need this if: you genuinely need offline use, device hardware, or app-store presence — then a website isn't enough, and we'll say so.

Progressive web app (PWA)

Starting at $6,000

A PWA installs to the home screen like an app, works offline, and can send notifications — but it's one codebase, no app-store gatekeeping, and far cheaper to build and maintain. For most small businesses that want 'an app,' this is the right answer.

Right for you if: you want an app-like experience — home-screen icon, offline access, notifications — without the cost and upkeep of native.

You probably don't need this if: you need deep device features (background GPS, Bluetooth hardware, heavy camera use) or true app-store distribution — that's where native earns its cost.

On native apps

When native is genuinely worth it — and when it isn't

Native apps are the right call in a narrow set of cases: deep hardware integration, serious offline field work, or app-store presence as a real distribution channel. We know how to tell the difference, and we'll tell you honestly which side of that line you're on. Most of the time, the honest answer saves you tens of thousands of dollars — and that's the point.
